SoCo Sports is Sarasota County’s premier Sport and Social Club, established in March 2009 to improve the quality of life in Sarasota and
Manatee County. We create a fun, and healthy environment by organizing and facilitating co-ed recreational sports leagues, tournaments,
clubs, camps, and social events for adults (18yrs+) in Sarasota County. Simply put, we facilitate fun!
What is a Sport & Social Club
A Sport & Social Club is essentially a huge network of like minded individuals that live an active lifestyle and share a passion for recreational
sports and social activities. By joining SoCo Sports, you will not only get to participate in the best recreational sports leagues in Sarasota
County, but you will get the chance to meet new people and develop long lasting friendships and relationships!
What Leagues do you offer?
SoCo Sports is serving up ALL of your favorite sports leagues and athletic events all year long! We have 4 primary league sessions: Winter
(January - March), Spring (April - June), Summer (July - September), and Fall (October - December). Our recreational sports leagues include,
but are no limited to, Basketball, Bowling, Cornhole, Dodgeball, Flag Football, Kickball, Soccer, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee, Beach Volleyball and
Indoor Volleyball! If we don’t have a league listed on our SoCo Leagues page, then tell us what you want to play and we’ll set up a league for
you!
How much does it cost to play?
League fees vary by sport but most of our sports leagues average about $6 per game! It is cheaper to sign up as a team rather than an
individual and the more people per team you have, then the less it will cost per player. So for just $6/week, you will get over 2 months of
organized sports with access to facilities, paid officials, professional quality equipment, FREE t-shirts, a dedicated webpage to track your scores
and standings each week, and drink specials after every game! Plus, all paying participants can play for FREE as a sub in any of our other
sports leagues. Its like playing all of our sports for the price of one! You simply will NOT find a more economical way to stay fit, have fun, and
meet new people than with SoCo Sports.
What is in it for me?
SoCo Sports provides the best quality recreational sports leagues in Sarasota County, period. We do our best to reserve the best quality
facility space in Sarasota County. We also carry insurance to help us make sure all of our participants are protected and enjoy a fun and safe
season. Furthermore, we always provide paid umpires, referees, and scorekeepers to ensure you league runs as smoothly as possible.
Finally, we hook you up with a free league T-shirt and drink specials to all the local hot spots in Sarasota County, which is a good excuse for
most people to sign up! We also have an awesome website for you to track your scores, standings, and schedule week after week and we have
a mobile app for you to access all your league/event information from your smart phone! SoCo Sports' leagues, tournaments, clubs, camps and
social events are quite possibly the most economical form of healthy entertainment and a great way to meet people and make new friends!
Where do we practice?
SoCo Sports only facilities league games each week. Teams will be required to organize and facilitate their own practices.
Where are your leagues played?

We don’t have enough for a full team, can we sign up with a friend?
Of course! Its real easy, just sign up as individuals and put each other’s names in the field provided on your individual registration form and we’
ll place you on the same team! We do our best to create teams based on a balance of gender and skill level so its always anyone’s game!
Do we need to provide our own equipment?
Usually not but it depends on the league. SoCo Sports will always provide the game balls and necessary equipment to play the game (volleyball
nets, dodgeballs, flags for football, etc). However, we do NOT provide gloves or bats for softball, its BYOB!
Can we wear our own jerseys?
If you have ever seen one of our leagues, you will get a feeling for how cool it is to see all the different team colors. Since we provide FREE
league jerseys for ALL of our participants, you will be required to wear them to play. It is the best way for our officials to know who is a
registered and paid participant, and its the only way to guarantee two teams will NOT have the same color. We also must ensure that all
participants on the field have signed our release and waiver and our jerseys are the only way to track this for our insurance company. So
please accept our free league t-shirt and wear it with pride! If you are sponsored, then please email us so we can explain the many great

Are there rules?
Yes, we usually follow NCAA rules for our mainstream sports like Basketball and Volleyball but we also have our own SoCo Rules published on
our website. Please make sure you read through these completely before your first game so there are no questions about your league’s rules
or requirements.
What prizes are offered to championship teams?
Most league championship teams will receive FREE Championship prizes and/or a special Champs Party courtesy of SoCo Sports.
Championship prizes vary by sport and by season. Tell us what you would want to win and we'll hook you up!
Where can I find information on your Social Events?
All SoCo Sports events will be published on our SoCo Events page. This page contains details of upcoming athletic and social events and we
will post pictures from our past events on this page as well.
Why should I be a fan of your Facebook Page or follow you on Twitter?
Facebook and Twitter will be our primary tools for social media and some communications. By accessing our Facebook page, you will be able
to see daily updates regarding your leagues and events while checking out photos from all SoCo Sports activities. We will also send out daily
news and updates that impact you via Twitter. You can join us on Facebook and Twitter from the top of any page on this website.
What is Playbook and why should I join?
Playbook is the official online community and mobile application for SoCo Sports! By joining our leagues and events on Playbook, you will have
instant access to all other players in your league or event! Better yet, you can access your scores, schedule, and facility map directly from your
smart phone, upload photos to your league/event page, post comments on the whiteboard, create and manage your statistics, and have access
to previous leagues and events forever! We will be sending out important league updates like schedule changes and rainouts through
Playbook so you can receive info instantly! Finally, Players are encouraged to use Playbook to communicate with other players to find subs
